Dog owners are getting smarter.
We’re becoming tired of treats that give our dogs’ gas, that make our dogs fat, and that are misleading about ingredients or health benefits. What’s surprises us is that many brands are cluing in to the changing market.
As a result, more and more dog owners are making healthy dog treats and opening up shop.
When I’m introduced to a new, healthy dog treat, I’m excited to have our dogs try it out and I was recently introduced to Ginger’s Treats.
When I opened the bag, I was a little put off by the texture of the treats. They’re very rough – will our dogs like these*. But before I could finish that thought, the smell hit me and I wanted to try the treats. OMG they smell like delicious cookies – which they are, because each of our dogs devoured their treat and asked for more.
*If you have a dog who prefers soft treats, Ginger’s Treats offers those too.
Our favorites were the Bulldog Bites and the main ingredient is peanut butter – can you guess why our dogs love them? And the Autumn Crisps, which are oatmeal – apple cookies and our dogs couldn’t get enough.
The ingredients are all organic…
- Bulldog Bites – Ingredients: Organic dark rye flour, Organic peanut butter, Organic unsulphured blackstrap molasses, Organic Flax seed and Organic extra virgin coconut oil.
- Autumn Crisps – Ingredients: Organic dark rye flour, Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Apples, Organic raw clover honey, Organic extra virgin coconut oil, Organic cinnamon, and Organic cloves.
Each bag includes 40 treats, which is perfect for our pack.
We’re always training and rewarding our dogs, which makes finding healthy treats a priority for us. Rodrigo has a sensitive tummy, and “junk food” treats give all of our dogs wicked gas. Not one fart was detected after having fun training with Ginger’s Treats.
I’ve found Ginger’s Treats at Natural Pet Pantry in Kirkland and you can find more of their treats online at GingersTreats.com.
