Giveaways

I read and reviewed Conversations with Woo and loved it.  Absolutely loved it.  And now it’s your turn to win a copy of this sweet love story to a dog.  Reading this book inspired me to start writing my mixed breed ebook, which is my love story to our mutts.

Celebrating Dog Lovers | Enter to W*n the Touching Book Conversations with Woo Conversations with Woo 500x218 win a book conversations with woo contest giveaways

To win, all you need to tell me (in the comments below)…

What has your dog taught you about life?

My answer?  Our dogs have taught me to live in the moment.  It’s amazing how they can be upset or stressed in one moment, but then shake it off.  They are so forgiving and I love that if I ever make a mistake (and I make them) they’ll always love me and never judge me.

This contest is open to US Residents only (sorry to my International friends).  You must be 18 years or older to enter.  Winner to be chosen randomly on Friday, February 22.  The author will arrange delivery of the ebook (soft cover pending availability or next order), Conversations with Woo, to the winner.

This giveaway is now closed.  The winner is Rick W and he has been notified.  Thank you to everyone who participated.

my dogs teach me, every single day, that no matter how often I mess something up (in my eyes) in their eyes, I’m still a hero. THAT’s judgement free, unconditional love at it’s very best!

I’ve learned to see things through my dogs’ eyes, to appreciate the here and now and to feel and show joy with simple things. They truly don’t know or care what I wear, what my career is, what I drive…just that I am and that I am in their lives.

What have I learned in a lifetime of living with dogs? That there are never any “bad hair days,” – each day is a welcome adventure where what you look like doesn’t matter: what you ARE is the stuff of happiness.

This is a hard question to answer because there is a laundry list of things to choose from. I actually wrote a book too…never published of course, but we are putting it out in chapters on our blog. But it was exactly this topic. The inspiration for the book was a dog we rescued, Tino. There are many stories around our life with him, but probably the most important are from when he went blind from glaucoma around age 9. I worried so about how he would do, he was a very independent dog, spending his days outside rummaging around in our yard. I feared he would become scared and reclusive. Absolutely the opposite, you would never know he was blind, and most people didn’t until told. The day I watched him stalk and catch a lizard in our backyard was a life lesson for me. Do not let anything come between you and your joy!

Steel has taught me never to end the day without a little love. She doesn’t care if she’s tired, grumpy or if she’s had a bad day. She always jumps in bed for a little hug and kiss before she retires to bed.

Always take the time to “check the weather.” Tag always stepped out the door multiple times a day, for just a few seconds to get some fresh air.

The GBGV is known in England as the happy breed and it is so true, I am always happy! My Kuvasz sister has her moods and stuff but I teach mom to always smile and find the good things to be happy about in life. If she is down, she just has to find me and I pick her right back up!

I too have a one blue eyed aussie cattle dog who taught me patience and forgiveness since the day I got him from a rescue agency in orange n.j. He continues to be the sweetest dog I ever had and is an inspiration to everyone who sees him at my prosthetic facility. You see he is a victim of abuse and as a result lost a rear leg. He hikes regularly 5-10 miles when I can get him out and keep up with him. He’s my hero. I’m glad to be rescued.

My dogs have taught me to to be calm. It’s hard to stay upset and stressed when I’m playing with Shiloh or cuddling with Cheyenne. You also need to remain calm while training. How I behave toward and with my dogs has carried over into other aspects of my life and made me a calmer, happier person.
