I took this picture when we were doing the inspection on our home.  This is the previous owner’s dog and he was such an absolute sweetie.

When I first started blogging, I wanted to be a pet photographer.  My favorite photographers are Julie of Bailey and Banjo and Julie of Julie Austin Photography.  Today, I only take pictures of our pets and I love it!  If you’d like to  take better pictures of your pets, then you’ll love Pet Photography 101Pet Photography 101 | Tips to Help Pet Owners Take Better Pictures pet photography featured dog photography giveaways dog photography .  I’ve searched for a long time for pet photography books and was surprised to only find one that I love.  I thought I’d fill a bookcase.

Those shots are just gorgeous! I know with adoption and fostering a great picture can really sell a pet. Great photos drew us to the local animal care center where we found our little pound pup, Relay, a one year old hound mix. A very photogenic little man, he poses with all his foster brothers and sisters to help them find their forever homes.

Great pictures! I just got my first ‘nice’ camera a few months ago – a Sony Alpha DSLR. While I am still learning how to use it, the main subject of my photography is my dogs. I have found it’s great for those action shots that camera’s with slower frames per second won’t capture clearly. I have a few posted on my blog at http://www.gryphonmastiffs.blogspot.com if you want to check them out. They’re just randomly scattered throughout the posts, most are action shots.

I love those pictures! We have a zoo around this household, but I think I told you about that before…lets see…

    Lucie the kitty (age 11)
Nuri the Hamster (just had her first birthday)
Flonne the Bearded Dragon (not 100% sure but think 3)
Freya the Bearded Dragon (about 2 years old)
Loki the Bearded Dragon (I think around 3 years?)
Eris the Bearded Dragon (little over 2 years old)
Kirin the Bearded Dragon (3 1/2 years old)
Hyperion the Bearded Dragon (4 months old)

Still waiting on adding the puppy here since we are going back to our own house soon (yay no more renting). Not sure how old the dogs are that adopted US here at the barn….

I have taken at least a few thousand pics of my babies. They are my main subjects :) I can get decent pictures of my oldest, a Shih Poo named Ariel, she poses or just sits still. My youngest, a Shih tzu, named Sebastian is afraid of the lights and sounds from this odd thing I’m pointing at him. He is adorable too. I do have some good photos of him that aren’t blurred because he takes off before the shutter button is pushed. He has blue eyes and everyone loves him. I have taken Ariel to get professional pictures done every year and then when she was around 4 years old, we got Sebastian. I tried getting theirs taken together and separately and it wasn’t working. I would love to take my own professional looking photos of both of my babies to use as art in our home. Thanks for the tips and I am going to frequent this page often :)

I love taking critter photos, but Steel HATES having her photo taken. She is a seven year old black lab.

Molimo is my chocolate lab who is going through her terrible two’s. She’s a big show off, but she’s a little unsure of the camera still.

I’m currently dogless, but love caring for my girls Molimo and Steel. They’re fun to photograph when they’re wrestling. You can get some great expressions. They are both labradors and they are 2 & 7.

I actually wrote up a post a couple months ago about taking pictures of pets. My problem right now is I need a new camera or a better iPhone. LOL

I love my DSLR camera; I am pretty crappy at taking pictures with my cell phone. I’m blown away by what people can do with their phones. Wow!

      Thanks for stopping by, Christie!

I have always considered going into pet photography. Two loves – photos and animals coming together day in and day out. I can dream :)

Our house is currently home to the following menagerie….

Cat – Windy 8, American Short Hair
Dog – Dew Drops 4 1/2, Mini Aussie
Cat – Misty 5 (momma to Twister) American Short Hair
Cat – Twister 4, American Medium Hair
Dog – Frosty 4, Mini Aussie

And we’re currently fostering Sophie, a 4 year old Standard Aussie pup, who was an owner surrender. She is a sweet doll baby and she could easily make me a foster failure :)
