Christmas Comes Early! Having Fun with Top Petco Pet Products @Petco

One of our favorite pet stores (Petco) was kind enough to send the dogs a box full of goodies for our dogs.  Petco is where Blue graduated from Puppy Class with Honors!  Petco is where I often respond to the questions “Where’s Blue?” “Did you bring Rodrigo?” and “Is Sydney still in the car?”  So I was stoked when I came home the other day to see a big box on the porch, slightly crushed, because Blue sat on it.

When we opened the box of Petco pet products and dog toys, my boyfriend and I looked at each other with big smiles.  We weren’t sure what to expect, but we didn’t expect the generosity Petco laid on us.  He rounded up the dogs (not very hard, since they’re now convinced that every box that arrives is for them) and I grabbed the camera.

What I love about this shot, besides how happy Rodrigo looks, is Blue sitting in the background. Blue is just happy to have all of us in the same room. Dogs are so tolerant and easy to please.  We tried the antlers on Blue and he wasn’t a happy camper.  Sydney wasn’t very cooperative either (image below), but Rodrigo was a fantastic sport.  What astounded me is that the dogs didn’t take them off and run off to rip the antlers apart.  More holiday fun will be had later!

We could not quite figure out what this dog toy is for, but the dogs love it. They go nuts when we put it on our hand. We’re guessing that it’s a puppet, but there’s no room for fingers or your hand, you just set it on your hand. We had to be faster than Rodrigo and Blue, because they kept lunging for it. It now lives in a drawer to be taken out on special occasions. I can say that it’s a hit with the dogs!

See what I mean about the dogs thinking all packages are for them? Petco didn’t help us dissuade them this weekend either. Even Sydney joined in and she’s not really in to dog toys, but she was interested in the frog.

The frog lasted for about 4 hours. Initially it was Blue’s toy, but he was distracted by the sound of a cat’s meow.  Rodrigo walked around with it for a while, letting the other dogs know that this is his toy, then he proceeded to rip the legs off and destuff it. Thanks, Rigo.  Although the frog is now de-stuffed, Blue still runs around the house with it in his mouth, growling.  I wonder if he knows that he didn’t de-stuff the frog.  I think he’s saying “you’re next” when he growls at Rigo; not to be outdone, Rodrigo takes the de-stuffed frog from Blue and sits with it in his chair.  It’s hilarious how much fun dogs can have with a “broken” Petco dog toy.

No, this isn’t a bib. It’s a dress for a cat and Johan decided that it could double as a bib for Blue. Blue was a great sport. Petco also sent the coolest winter sweater that we couldn’t get on Blue. I hadn’t realized he’d gotten so big. We have friends with cats and small dogs and now we have gifts to match courtesy of Petco.

I don’t even want to think of the claw marks we’d have if we tried to put this on one of our cats.  But I wonder if we work together and sneak up on Jaffrey…

Petco Holiday Red & Plaid Dress for Cats

Sydney was not being a good sport when we put her new harness on her. The Petco mesh harness is a perfect fit and I had to wonder if Petco took some time to get to know our dogs when they chose this one for us. Isn’t she adorable. She hates collars and harnesses and gets to walk leash free; so when we strapped her into this contraption (which was easy to do, by the way) she wasn’t excited. This may become Rodrigo’s new harness.

I have to stress how easy it was to fit the harness to Sydney’s body.  By the time we got the mesh harness out of our Petco goody box, the dogs were bored with the Show and Tell so I didn’t think we’d get this harness on her in time.  No instructions need, it was super easy to figure out.  A must have for every dog lover!

And we have a Planet Petco (yes, Petco is going green!) leash and collar to match. I just love the colors. Petco really out did themselves when they sent a gift box full of Petco pet products to our pups.  What’s fun is that we’re not done!  There are a few more things to go through so stay tuned!
