When I researched adopting litter mate puppies I learned that it’s not the best idea. The dogs will bond more to each other than to you, it’s difficult to train, it’s expensive, and it’s already a stressful period and you’re multiply that by adopting two puppies.
All that being said, we happily moved forward with the adoption, researching vets, food, trainers, and our dogs’ breed. We were ready. Or we thought we were ready. It was a stressful time, yes, but all I remember are the happy moments.
What I love most about adopting litter mate puppies is that they do the same things today that they did two years ago. These pictures make me smile so big and these two dogs and the memory of our third dog warm my heart 24/7. I can’t believe how lucky we are to have these two miracles in our life.
